The Time Timer is Great for Adults Too!Mar 26, 2010
By M. Clark As an adult with ADD, I keep my Time Timer at my side throughout the day. It helps me conceptualize time in a way that no other gadget ever has. Using it keeps me on track and on time better than a clock, better than an alarm or stopwatch, better than anything! I love that it makes not one sound except for a tiny beep when the time is up, because that way I can keep it by my computer as I'm working and it doesn't distract me. If I want to know how much time I have left I might glance at it, but overall I tend to forget it's there when I'm concentrating on my work--and that's a good thing. There's no "ticking".
I have also started using it whenever I have a class to teach or a public speaking engagement. Just before I begin, I start the timer and place it in a visible spot like on a desk or chair facing the podium. Somehow, watching the red disappear makes it very easy to keep my talk to its exact, designated time. I used to run long for the first 2/3rds and then have to cut important stuff at the end. But now, with my Time Timer, I'm better able to see precisely how much time is left--not in minutes but in red color--and trim my talk along the way.
In short, at work and home, the Time Timer is one of the most useful products I own. I highly recommend it!

Fantastic for teaching time awareness!!!!Mar 08, 2010
By A. Dreyer I have foster children with special needs. I purchased a 12 inch Time Timer for each of my foster sons classrooms and a 8" one for the house. The classrooms are LOVING them as they provide a great visual for all of the students as to when time is up and it's time to move onto the next task. At home I am finding it useful with my developmentally delayed teens as well as my "normal" functioning 3-year-old. I would definitely recommend a Time Timer for use with any child or adult that has difficulty telling time or difficulty with time management!

Time timerFeb 04, 2010
By L. Torff I explained to my 10 and 7-year old children that the time timer is not a toy but a tool, and because it can be broken if mishandled, we are only letting parents set the time for now. The kids did play with it just a little, but so far, no problems. Now we ask, "How many red minutes do you have left to finish your check list?" We don't tell them what to do anymore - working great. Very Helpful TimerApr 17, 2010
By J. Girl

Ordering this timer online was risky, not seeing it in person, but I ended up liking it. I love the fact that my classroom of kids can see time running down from a distance, which was my goal. This size (8 inch) was good enough and I did not need the 12 inch. I was looking for an overhead timer so everyone could see, but I didn't want to leave the overhead on for lengths of time. It does the job that I wanted it to do. Some disadvantages: the audio alert is only one small beep, which most of the time no one notices. The face is also very flimsy, so I tell my kids they cannot touch it. Last, you really have no way of knowing whether the battery is still working or not as nothing moves or sounds until time runs down. Overall, i'm glad I did buy it, but wish they could make those few important changes.

cut down on my need to monitorJul 31, 2009
By Holly
"working mom"
It reinforces prior knowledge from pre-K and K, exposes my 6 year old to counting down and elapsed time. The bonus for me is it has cut down on my need to monitor and places the responsibility where it belongs. The dial is a bit fragile so I set it on most occasions.
