5Best Return for our MoneyDec 01, 2008
By cklein "Cher"
We received this gift for our baby shower and is the only product my baby used his first week and still going strong at 6 1/2 months old. At 1 month, he stared at the toys hanging. At 2 months he started batting at the toys. At 3 months, he understood hitting the butterfly set off the music. At 4 months he started grabbing the toys(we added more links and toys for teething and still using). At 5 months he started rolling over and looking at the pictures on the mat. At 6 months he started grabbing the crinkly leaves and firefly on the mat and trying to crawl around. All 6 months we used it for tummy time as well. He loves the bee for some reason - favorite stuffed animal he owns and it goes with us when he gets his shots or to playgroups. I think when he turns 7 months we will take the toy bar off as he is currently trying to pull on it to sit up. It's not durable enough for this. We might think about wrapping the mat on the bottom of his crib mattress so when he wakes up quietly in the mornings he can go play on it(we'll check the safety of this first). As for the boppy pillow that comes with it: we did not use this as he outgrew it quickly. We used a large boppy pillow instead. After feeding him, we would incline him on the boppy pillow so he could swing at his toys.

All in All, the best product we have! Everything else got little or no use and we've already passed on to others. This will be kept forever! Highly recommend!

5Great for learning cause and effect and for tummy timeNov 27, 2008
By S. R. Nicholls
My daughter spend quite a bit of time on this. She enjoys all the bugs that come with it. I keep the ladybug on her changing table. She has started carrying the bee with her. The large butterfly sings when she hits it. She quickly understood cause and effect with the help of this butterfly. The mirror is great too. She had used all pieces of this set.

The leaves on the mat make crunching noise when you move them. She tugs on them while on her tummy. The mini boppy was nice when she was really little. We stopped using that around 4 months. This is an engaging and fun play gym.

5Hours of fun!May 24, 2007
By Dana
This play mat provided hours of play time for my daughter and has grown with her developmentally. She started out laying on the pillow and staring at all the toys. She then moved on to batting at the toys. Once she started learning to roll over it really became her favorite toy. Now that she is 7 months old we took the toy bar off of the top and she still plays on the mat. The mat is also convienent to take with you when you go to someones house for a place to play. I do have to say that the musical butterfly is motion activated and while my daughter loved it, it did get old for the adults pretty quickly after she learned to set it off constantly. We switched over to a different hanging toy after awhile. I also bought more links so she could reach the smaller toys more easily.

1Spend a little more for a better matDec 06, 2010
By Tomi
We bought this for our second child primarily because it was the most inexpensive one in the store. However I now regret not spending more on a better gym. As in the previous reviews, the toys are not very entertaining and you must add more rings to get them within baby's reach. However the biggest detraction for me is that it is flimsy and when he kicks on the bar, he successfully collapses it onto himself every time. This seems like a safety hazard if you are not within arms reach of baby.

5Best play matSep 26, 2010
By Sarah G
I highly recommend this play mat. It is very well designed and our baby has gotten a lot of use out of it. The toys are at the right hight for a six week old infant to bat at, which is not the case of many mats. In addition, the mat has wonderful little attractions for tummy time as well such a crinkly leaves and dragon fly wings. In the early days of tummy time, the little pillow is also a nice feature. We no longer use the entertainment bar because at six months she has out grown playing on her back, but we have transferred the hanging toys to her stroller/car seat and they are still fun for her. She continues to use the mat for tummy time.
