This is simply a device to help you follow the lines when you are reading a book. These are a hard plastic material (much like a ruler) but without the numbers and lines. Would prefer they be flexible so they bend with the spine in the book, but overall the product is what I was looking for and is good quality. 1 of 2 found the following review helpful: Just a clear plastic stripApr 28, 2011 By Emily Solberg I was hoping this had a clear middle and was opaque on the top and on bottom so the child could be focused just on what is in the clear area (and not be distracted with what was above and below), but this really was just a strip of clear plastic. I guess I should have looked closer at the picture which was my fault.
