5Great toy for teaching!Dec 28, 2009
By L. St Clair
I teach first grade and these tops come in the balance and motion science kit that I use with my students. I ordered more because they are great to give to the kids, or have to use in the classroom after we are done with the kit. The kids love them and always ask to use them. They remind me of the spinning picture machine thing that I used as a kid. They basically are spun like a top and create circular designs. I would have thought they would have gotten bored with them after a bit, but it hasn't happened yet.

Ok, I have absolutely no use for this thing as an adult. But it IS quite fun :) You simply spin it, and it draws out circular pattern(s). Being young at heart, I think it's quite cool!

My 20 month old daughter loves watching this marker spin around. She can't do it by herself, but she likes to watch it and try and grab at it. Definitely nice change from regular markers.
