Egg-Shape Sorter by Small World Toys

SKU:

SW-8306

This product is currently out of stock
Description:

This ordinary-looking carton of eggs is a unique shape-sorting toy; it stands out from the rest because it's attractive and adorable, not just functional. Open the robin's egg-blue carton to find six perfectly white eggs. The surprise is that within each egg (which splits in two) is one of six shapes and colors. Just pulling out the eggs and opening them will be a challenge at first. With experience comes more manual dexterity. Young kids will be able to recognize the orange diamond, the green triangle, the red star, and match up the eggshells in time. A great toy for playing grocery store, too.

Features:

Sorting and matching skills

Cute, carry-along carton

3Comparing Hide N Squeak Eggs with Express Egg Shape SorterNov 15, 2010
By ck_361 "ck_361"
Having purchased many of the Hide and Squeak Eggs sets for my son and birthday gifts for other babies, I thought I'd give this egg set a try: it's not worth it. The Express Egg Shape Sorter just isn't as enjoyable. You have to line up the pieces just right to get them to connect, and for little hands and little babies, this just isn't possible yet. Also, the case is very flimsy and the whole thing just feels so cheap.

The Hide N Squeak Eggs come in a really fun case, the shells intermix and young babies can connect them on the different eggs very easily. Even the eggs are cute, when you press them they squeak! It is difficult for my son to put the egg shapes in the right place in the egg carton, but not a big deal; he enjoys playing with the eggs while he's learning to master this skill.

The Express Egg Sorter has limited appeal and use. Really wouldn't buy these again. I definitely recommend the Hide N Squeak set.

1Worst toy everJan 04, 2010
By the boy's mom
Let me count the ways that this is a horrible toy:
If you put an egg in the carton wrong end down it can get VERY stuck and what kid knows to put the skinny end down?
The case is flimsy plastic.
The carton says 18 months+ but it is a choking hazard for kids under 3...hmmm.
The "quote" on the side is supposedly by a 2 year old - "With the Egg-Shape Sorter learning my shapes was over easy!" - what 2 year old says that!!

5great learning toyJan 21, 2012
By lovin colton
my son has sensory integration disorder and learning disabilities (possible autism ) he just turned two. He immediately took to this toy and it helps calm/soothe him a lot(he overwhelms and gets "done" easily) and loves when his teacher brings it so im buying it right now! It teaches shapes, colors, matching , fine motor skills, scanning (which helps with reading down the road) id much rather have that then have some happy go lucky squeaking toy personally

1Tight eggsJan 15, 2012

The concept is good but the eggs fit together too tightly for a small child (or even an adult) to be able to open them.

5Fun!Mar 22, 2011

My 1 year old son really enjoys these eggs in his play kitchen. He matches them really well after only a few days, and they are also great for pretending. The only downside is that the box had a tiny piece of the corner break off and it is now sharp.
