Fun to FlyJun 08, 2009
By Mother of 3 I bought this toy for my 8 year old son. The paper is very colorful and good quality for folding. Like a lot of origami, directions can be a little difficult for some kids to follow. Although my son did ask for help a couple of times, I found the directions and diagrams fairly clear. Beware of the misleading line "Make 18 airplanes!" While there is indeed 18 sheets of paper, the instruction booklet contains directions for only 6 different kinds of planes. The planes really do fly and hold up pretty well. It was a good buy for the money.

Old Time FunMay 31, 2008

I bought this kit for my cousin's sons while she was recuperating from surgery. It was a fun time for them -- they loved the stickers and decorating the planes too. In fact, they named each one. It was nice to be able to share some old time fun with this generation of gamers.
Highly recommend this economical gift that will get your kids thinking (and the parents playing, too)

The name of this toy is misleading...Dec 22, 2010
By elliejonah The box consisted of a little instruction booklet on how to fold airplanes, several pages of randomly themed paper, and a sheet of stickers. I expected each sheet of paper to be preprinted with folding lines, and 1-2-3 instructions, since it is recommended for a six year old. They are not. We had to start with a blank sheet of paper, and follow the instructions and small pictures in the booklet. Of course, my six year old wanted to do it himself, but he was not able to get the folds perfect enough or in the right place. My nine year old even had trouble doing it. I ended up making several of these before giving up on it. **Tip 1** We ended up going on one of the free paper airplane websites and printing the folding lines for various types of airplanes directly on the themed paper that was provided with this kit. Use a ruler on the fold line to keep your folds straight. A second sheet of paper prints with easy instructions on how to complete the airplane, and tips for flying it. **Tip 2** Don't let your kids go crazy with the stickers. . . Too many, and it won't fly straight. The paper is light weight, and the stickers are relatively heavy and large. . . Just one more thing that detracts from the fun of this product. I could have went to my local craft score and bought 18 sheets of better looking paper for around $5.

Although it arrived unwrapped with no gift note, my nephew loved it! His mom said she almost bought a similar product but this gift couldn't have been more perfect!

My 5 yr old loves the paper airplanes. Although I had to make them for him, he loved the finished product. The instructions were very easy to follow which made it fun for me too.
