The glitter does go onto the picture being colored, but is nothing to write home about. builds up on the tip of the crayon making it hard to color with after a while. It would be nice if the crayon wrappers' color was the same as the crayon color, and if the name of the color was printed on each wrapper. The colors are wonderful but the glitter does not show up even when you color the same area several times as recommended. We bought these to go with a birthday gift, but after trying them, we decided that they would be too disappointing. That said, my daughter, who is 4, enjoys the crayon colors very much even though they do NOT sparkle.
