We are huge Rody fans in my family and I have introduced this great Italian toy to many of our friends who are just now having children. We had a boy's 1 year old birthday to go to over Memorial Day weekend and of course, I chose to go with a Rody as the gift. We purchased the item and unfortunately when it arrived (within 2 days) it was a purple Rody not the blue one we had ordered. This was Wednesday. I contacted the vendor Play it Safe World of Fun and they got back to me right away. Not only did the woman tell me by email that I would get a full refund for the shipping costs of sending back the purple Rody but she said she had already made arrangements with Amazon to send the new Rody by that Saturday. Friday evening, the blue Rody was delivered, in time for the party on Sunday and over this holiday weekend no less. The Rody is a hit as is Play it Safe World of Fun!!

good quality toy for a reasonable price. We've tried other bouncy toys that don't bounce very well, but this one bounces very well - my 3 yr old son loves it. Good quality construction. Its great for gross motor skill development too.

My son received this toy for his 2nd birthday. I had never heard of "Rody" before. When I saw it had a hand pump (sold separately) I dreaded having to inflate it. BUT it took 2 minutes and was super easy. I was also pleased with the material - it's a very thick plastic. I don't see it being punctured unless someone took scissors or a knife and deliberately tried to cut it. That's nice since so many kids toys are made from cheap plastic and gets a hole within two weeks. Because it's smooth plastic - it's also very easy to wipe off. This is not a toy that you have to fear of getting dirty or being left outside. It's tough! The toy can also withstand my 4 yr old bouncing on it as if at the rodeo! My two kids bounce on it and Rody keeps it's shape without fail. I will say...besides that...there isn't much to do with the toy. My daughter dresses it up or pretends it's "Bullseye" from Toy Story 3. They also use it in their "fort" since blankets can easily hang on the ears and the face of Rody can be the "look-out" man. But...it lost it's novelty after a week or so, unless they have a friend over. Overall, I would never pay more than $25 for this, but it was a gift and will be in our house until our youngest outgrows it!

We purchased a Rody a few years ago for our oldest son and once our youngest son got a little older we decided to get him one too. This is an awesome toy. Kids can be as creative as they want or as non-creative as they want with it. Once the new plastic smell wears off, it is great.

Having a child with low muscle tone makes me look at toys more critically and has me selecting toys that promote skills and muscle development. When I saw the Rody, I thought that it was a perfect toy for my son, who was 11 months old when we bought it. My son's therapist and I use the toy much like a balance ball would be used. It has a nice bounce to it, and the ears provide the perfect handles. My son straddles it, holding on to the ears and experiments with shifting his weight. We recently added the rocker base to the Rody, and my son, now 16 months, can rock the horse unsupported. In just a short time, my son's gone from clutching the ears on the horse like they were his lifeline to rocking on the toy by himself. The Rody's been a great toy to strengthen his core.
The Rody is also great for all kids regardless of muscle tone issues. My son's cousins, aged 2 and 3 both enjoyed the toy as well. When they come to play, it seems like the kids are always taking turns with the Rody horse.
I highly recommend this toy for children with muscle development issues and for anyone looking for a compact sit-on toy (or rocking horse when you purchase the rocking base).
