His occupational therapist told us to not even bother with handwriting; he could just learn to type and skip learning cursive altogether. We used this book in our handwriting lessons, and he made enormous progress--he became a much more fluid, confident writer, and the handwriting itself improved enormously. The book breaks learning cursive down into easily manageable steps. Highly recommended.
