Excellent buy, perfect for a mini-workout while at the officeJun 04, 2008
By Nitin Kartik Excellent buy, perfect for a mini-workout while at the office. I'd highly recommend it for anyone interested in improving their grip (rock-climbers) or working out their inner forearms. Also a great stress-reliever, but it has a strong tension in the spring, so be prepared! :-)

Broke in less than a month on relatively light use!May 15, 2009
By P. Colon What can I say about a product that did not last 30 days of relatively light use! Well on the positive side the unit is light weight and very comfortable to use. The grip cover makes for a nice non slip surface. Unfortunately that is the only positive I can find. From day one the grip was noisy when compressed. The noise comes from the metal rods rubbing against the plastic handles. I was willing to live with that. But with very light use, one of the metal legs failed due to fatigue. As an engineer I can tell you that that is a very poor design with a very short life cycle. At the end, I guess we get what we pay for and this was a very cheap grip strengthener.

Could be betterMar 15, 2009
By S. Saxton This product looks all tough in pictures but it's really just as simple as the 3 dollar ones you can get at your sporting store. There's no variable resistance, and after a while mine started to squeak. And it's a pain because its the plastic that's squeaking, not the metal, which makes it difficult to grease.
Don't buy this one if you want a hand strengthener, just get one of the cheapy regular ones.

I'm glad I bought itJul 23, 2009
By Ian Garcia At first, I was curious to see how this would turn out. I knew Harbinger made good quality gloves at a cheap price so I hoped for this to be the same. I was right and this thing works out my grip amazingly. I play sports and I never realized that my grip needed so much work. The handle is a little bit big(5Ft 5In 155lbs), but if that's the case for you, just close it a little by using your other hand. You will still get a great workout by doing quick repititions.
If you've never used a gripper before and have some decent strength, you should start here. But beware, regardless of the gripper, if you've never used one before, your hands will hurt at first. It will hurt in your palms as that is the most sensitive part of your hands. Just work through the pain as I did. I used my other hand to help relieve the pain(took the tension off the palm, but kept my grip intact) if it was too much, but now I don't need to do that anymore.
(I've had the product about 2 weeks now) Pros: Great Workout Cheap Price Doesn't slip
Cons: This will squeak after some considerable usage (Not sure if it will break easily as some other reviews have stated)

Perfect Starter GripDec 17, 2009
By KZ This is a well constructed handgrip with comfortable grips - plenty of surface area for squeezing. This is the perfect grip for an average strength person. I find that more than 15 reps are difficult which is perfect tension. If you are a woman or have smaller hands, it still works great but you may need to use both hands to compress it slightly to get started. I have been using this for 2 months now and it is holding up well.
