Its easy to clean, and never seems to show any wear. We use it for oral motor stimulation, and also to keep him from chewing on more dangerous things. He's teething and will chew on this for 30 minutes at a time. It is smaller than I expected. It is the size of my palm, not my whole hand. It is easy for my baby (with low muscle tone) to hold on to this and yet it is big enough that he can't gag himself with it as he does some other toys. He enjoys picking at the nubs on the handle.
