I'm not sure, yet, whether ths review will be applied by Amazon to ALL of the various school "Football Guys," so let me start by saying, whether you purchase the regular "Football Guys (generic) or a school affiliated batch, this review should encompass ALL of the variations.
Awesome toy. Seriously.
Good quality, GREAT storage (easy cleanup) and kids love these.
We started out with "Baseball Guys" which came with a nice quality mat with a baseball field on it. Our son (age 4) just loved them. The figurines are larger than you might expect, and we think that's a real positive. They're stable, yet easy to move around.
There are no moving parts, no canned crowd noise, no electronic scoreboards, no accessories like concession stands or coaching headsets, etc. What you get is a toy that lets your child imagine a football game on a big football field mat, and "pretend" that he's in or at a game. You think that won't be fun for your child because your child likes video games, and movies about fast cars, and has the attention span of a spider monkey all hopped up on Mountain Dew?
Ok. From the moment our 4 year old opened the box, he spent the next hour and half with these guys. He doesn't play with them every day, but he pulls them out frequently, sets them up, moves them around, gives commentary. And it doesn't matter one hill o beans whether he knows the rules of football (baseball or whatever) he has fun making them up and playing anyway.
Yes, I know, my 4 year old is not your 5 year old or his 6 year old, or her precious twin five and half year olds...for the price, you get a nice quality toy that I predict your kids will enjoy. It's kind of like a nostalgic toy that USED to be made (remember when you could buy and play with nice, heavy, blocks?) I just think you'll be glad you got these guys!
FYI - I do believe these could be a great teaching tool for little league and pee wee football coaches too, if you're looking for some other application.

We started out by getting our son the Auburn Football guys. He loved this so much that he wanted the Alabama guys (Christmas)to play against rival Auburn. He now wants the Florida gators for his birthday. This is by far his favorite toys and he always grabs these before going to grandma's house. I can see this as being one of those toys that is kept for his kids one day. If I had a request, it would be for there to be more officials. This seems to be the only complaint my son has about the toy.

Bought for six year old son Grant. He plays with them all the time. They seem expensive for what they are compared to "green armies" but purchase was well worth price given the time he spends playing with them. Now he wants more teams to play against.
