The mat was bigger than expected and the perfect size (some of the other marble mats we looked at seemed too large). It also folds/rolls up easily for storage. It comes with marbles, so you don't need to order some separately. It has some basic instructions for marble games and our whole family had fun playing them. I hope that marbles makes a comeback. It's a simple game, doesn't take much space, easy to learn, but difficult to master. It also doesn't take any batteries and doesn't make any loud, annoying sounds. I'm going by the way I played in elementary school, but seeing the different designs on the mat, there must be more types of marbles games than what I played. My boyrfriend's grandkids did enjoy trying to play, but with so few marbles it wasn't as much fun.
