I had a Gertie ball when I was younger, and was very excited to find out that they still made them. I needed something small to send to a 3 yr old when we sent her brother a birthday gift and this seemed perfect. She and her 1 yr old brother love it! Their mom said that they call it the "magic ball" and is great because you can travel with it (just deflate, pack, and reinflate wherever). We ended up ordering a couple different sizes of gertie balls for our 1 yr old and he loves them too. My husband and I even enjoy playing with them! They're great for any age and don't hurt it you get hit by them.

I'm very disappointed with this item. I expected to get the ball in the mail and be able to give it to the babies in my daycare so they could see the marks their hands made--but boy was I wrong! Either this ball is so old that the hypercolor/heat reaction doesn't work anymore, or the product never lived up to its expectations to begin with! Has anyone received a ball that DID work? The ball I received changed colors ONLY when I held it up to a boiling, steaming crockpot! What babies' hands are THAT hot? Buyer beware!

I had to buy this from a different company after Amazon cancelled my purchase but I am satisfied with it. I bought it for my youngest nephew for X-mas and he loves it! I was instantly drawn to the color change aspect but, at 19 months, he hasn't caught on yet. I agree it deflates easily but filling it back up hasn't been a problem. It's really easy for him to hold and toss around. I struggled to figure out what to get him and am glad I chose this.

This Gertie Ball was purchased for small children. They like it because they can carry it easily and their parents anticipate the science value as they get a little older. Good service from vendor.

I am a pediatric physical therapist and I use this with kids to help with all kind of learning for ball skills/play. Because you can adjust the amount of air that is in there, you can make it just a bit more "squishy" so it's easier to catch. THe fun way it changes color with temperature and touch really is fasinating.
