| | | Description: | | The Gertie ball changes color with touch! Pale blue when warm, changes to purple when chilled; kids love to see handprints, face prints or other custom designs magically appear on the ball's surface. So many ways to play - pop it in the fridge to chill, then apply warm hands. Dip in warm water, use chilled cookie cuttersà magically imprint your hand, face and more with just a touch! Watch the Gertie change colors with temperature. What makes a Gertie ball so wonderful? It's the soft, squishy, huggable feel! Gertie balls have a unique, slightly-sticky surface that makes them extra easy to throw and catch - even for the youngest kids. Simply inflate the balls to the desired size and skill level. Whether they are full and bouncy or soft and squeezable, Gertie balls are always light and gentle, for both indoor and outdoor play. And it's the only ball that travels small! Deflate flat for easy packing, and then re-inflate quickly with the included straw. Safe for all ages. | | | Features: | |

hard to blow up, does not hold air.Jan 21, 2008
By I. Dineva the idea is great - a ball that changes color. that feature works ok, so i have no qualms with the material. the ball itself is poorly executed - there is no valve to keep the air in, just a plastic plug, that my child loves to pick on and open the ball. It is supposed to be inflated with straw, but there is no good way to insert the plug with the straw still in place... so it deflates very fast.
maybe a magic playmat?

gertie ballJan 02, 2008
By Kathi L. Chizzonite I purchased this for my 18 month old grandson as he loves balls. I was not impressed. It does not hold air well and barely shows a hand print when he plays with it. He did not seem to like it either as it sat in the corner most of the time.

Great ball for a toddlerSep 20, 2008
By Shannon W This ball is a great ball for small hands. The way that the ball compresses allows for it to be gripped (one-handed) by a toddler. We got this ball for our daughter's 1st birthday and she loves it. She very often reaches around her regular beach ball to grab the gertie ball. The one downside to the ball is that it loses air quickly and has to be blown up every day to keep it firm.

Don't buy this ballDec 10, 2010
By Kay Allen From the description of this ball it seemed to be a perfect gift for my 18 month old grandson. This ball comes deflated in a small package. It is only about 8" wide when you inflate by blowing up by mouth. I was expecting a ball that would change colors when touched but this only happens if it is chilled first and stops happening as soon as the ball returns to room temp. (and that happens very quickly). I can't believe I paid this much for a ball that looks like a dollar store item.

Nice ball - didn't change colour muchDec 26, 2010
By Topaz our ball barely changes colour, nothing like the picture shown, you would struggle to notice if you didn't know it was supposed to change.
