This stamp set is the toy in CONSTANT use by my two daughters, ages 2 and 4. Each stamp is either an animal, plant, sun, barn or something like that, so the stamps can be combined to make little stories. The girls like to stamp and then color each one on their paper. The set comes with two pads, one red, one blue. That's plenty it seems. They have used the pads over and over and both are still perfectly wet. The stamps are high quality rubber mounted on wood, so they are very durable and make a nice clear impression. They are easy for little ones to hold, and yet older children love them too because they allow for lots of imaginative play.
I highly recommend this item, as well as most of the other Melissa and Doug toys.

I ordered the Deluxe Stamp Set as a stocking gift for Christmas and did not have high expectations, since it was relatively inexpensive. I was pleasantly surprised. The whole set is packaged in a sturdy, reusable, wooden crate. The stamps are very high quality, rendering clean, detailed pictures. The ink was also of good quality, and it was completely washable. The stamps were easy to clean after use. My only criticism is of the colored pencils. There weren't enough colors, they did not work well with the stamps, and they were hard to sharpen. We ended up coloring our pictures with magic markers instead. Overall, though, a great product!

A few pieces of paper and this kit can entertain my 4-yr-old daughter for at least 30 minutes at a time. I was impressed by how much you get for your money with this kit - 16 stamps, two ink pads and eight colored pencils. She loves to make pictures and cards for friends and family. It's a good way to nurture creativity.

Stamps a HitOct 03, 2005

I purchased these stamps for my art project loving 2 1/2 year old even though the package says 4 years +. She doesn't use them to make pastoral scenes as shown on the package, but loves the stamp graphics. Much cleaner than other projects we do and the stamps are very good quality with two stamp pads (so no fighting with her cousin over them). It's nice to know she will enjoy these for a long time and they seem durable enough to last as her artistic ability grows!

We've had this stamp set for a year now, and it is still being used constantly by my son and daughter, age 5 now, and my other son, 4 now. They do not get tired of this toy! When I try to de-clutter and rotate the toys, they always notice if it's missing. (Which is more that can be said for most of their other toys). Super price for this set, considering how much it's loved!
