5Amazing toy - Must supervise while playing with it!Dec 24, 2006
By Sherry Anderson
I can't even begin to explain how wonderful this toy is. Our 3 year old son was completely entertained for hours. This sand really does mold like clay, but it breaks apart like sand so you can reuse it over and over. Here are some recommendations to get your money's worth out of it:

1. SUPERVISE YOUR CHILD while playing with this. It's a great toy to enjoy TOGETHER with your children. Any parent knows that young children left with sand, dirt, or any type of messy item will make a great big mess. This has no reflection on the product; it's just what kids like to do.
2. Put it on a clean table surface to play with it. It helps ensure you can scoop any sand that somehow makes it outiside of the inflatable walls right back in.
3. Buy the additional sand packs to ensure you have plenty of sand. While it does come with enough sand to fill in all of the molds, it wouldn't hurt to have a little bit more.

All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend this toy, but only if you don't mind supervising your child while he/she is playing with it. I can't rave enough about this toy!

4This is fun stuff!!Dec 23, 2006
By Lucy "Mom of three great kids"
My kids received this as well as a sand castle kit. My kids love to play with this sand. However it needs to be played with at a covered table and children MUST have supervision. Yes, it is messy but as long as the kids play in a well covered area it is fine. I don't think I would use this around food. This is also very addicting for the parents, I have a hard time putting it down! The kids really like to use the molds that come with the kits.

2What a let downFeb 11, 2007
By D. McAfee
My 6 year old daughter wanted this stuff so bad for Christmas. I saw the commercials and thought it looked great so I bought it for her. Within minutes, the stuff was everywhere. It doesn't really stick together as well and easy as the commercials show. It is very dry, so dry that it really doesn't bond, not even in the molds unless you really put some muscle into it.
The reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because she enjoyed playing with it. Each time she plays with it, we have less and less. I can't tell you how happy that makes me. She likes Playdough better she says. Wish I had saved my money.

5Love moon sand!Jan 04, 2007
By Great Mom "momof4"
Moon sand is awesome. Sure, it can be messy. Parents should always supervise their children while playing with it. It's fun for parents too!
As for a previous review of a parent who let their child open it and play with it in a public place, my question is why???????? And then made their child leave it there? No wonder the other parents didn't like it. You SHOULD have opened it at home, supervised your child instead of ruining their party and birthday. Over all, Moon Sand is a great toy. I hate mess, but don't mind cleaning up the little mess that is left behind.

1Messy!Jan 11, 2007
By Leslie C. Dunn
They say this stuff isn't messy - I'd like to know what your definition of messy is. I will not keep this product in my home, but I do have several of my little boy's friends who have requested it for b-day's, etc. Therefore, I will be purchasing more I'm sure!
