Tummy Time for BabyJul 28, 2010 This pat and play water mat needs to be filled with water and needs to be emptied of that water often to prevent any mold buildup. For babies that enjoy being on their tummies, it works well.
I've also noticed that it can help with babies that do not like tummy time such as my grandson. He will stay on his tummy a little longer now then before. We are hoping that that improves.
This mat is much smaller then it looks here on Amazon but is an okay size. The little floaties in this mat do stick together but I have found a solution for this problem that makes this better.
I put about 2 glugs of vegetable oil in the mat plus a little water. From the outside, you can manipulate the floaties apart and because of the oil, it is much harder for them to stick together. Add the usual amount of water and it's good to go. You don't have to add oil everytime as they stay coated for awhile. Helps keep the floaties apart.
I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars for this reason.
Such a simple yet fun idea!Jun 12, 2010 The Munchkin Play N Pat Water Mat was purchased for use with infants that I work with at my center. They love batting at the floating objects and seem to be fascinated with the little bell that jingles inside one of the frogs! It was a great purchase!
Great tummy Time ToyApr 16, 2010 first want to note..in the direction it doesn't tell you after you fill it up with water to make sure you push the air out of the water part before plugging it up. I didn't do that and i sat it down and you couldn't touch the water because the air in it..than my husband took it and let the air out of the water compartment and it was fixed..It is a GREAT toy. My daughter hates being on her tummy for some reason and this toy distracts her for a long time while being on her tummy. right now she just liked to eat the thing and once in a while hit the water but with time and age she will figure it out...NOTE...LISTEN TO THE DIRECTIONS DO NOT LEAVE YOUR KID ALONE...I HAVE WATCHED MY DAUGHTER MANY TIMES GO TO SUCK ON THE TOY OR "EAT" IT AND PLASTIC OF COURSE DOES NOT GIVE AWAY TO HER NOSE AND SHE TRIES TO BREATH AND SHE CANT AND I WILL HAVE TO PUSH IT DOWN AT HER NOSE FOR HER TO BREATH OR REPOSITION HER SO HER NOSE DOESN'T GO INTO THE PLASTIC. Don't let that scare you though it is a GREAT toy if you use it how its instructed, supervised. plus a great toy to play with your kid. I just wanted to stress that the directions are right about having to watch your child.
Looks good, but QC is badMar 10, 2010 My wife spent half an hour trying to fill this with water before giving it to me. I determined that they forgot to punch a hole in the hard plastic insert where you're supposed to put the water. When I tried, I ended up punching a hole in the other side. Will be taking it back.
So cute!Feb 12, 2010 This play mat is so cute. Filling it with water and filling the air were really easy. My infant daughter plays with this every day. The big frog has a rattle and a squeaky in it's head, and muy daughter likes to gnaw on it!
