The finger-paint paper that comes in the tray is heavy and of good quality. Paintings on my fridge hold up quite well without ripping at the edges. And the tray is wonderful. My 20-month old granddaughter uses the paper for her crayon drawings as well. The plastic tray that the paper comes in has a tiny lip around the edge, and the lip keeps crayons from rolling off the table -- very, very helpful. When I realized the value of the tray, I started putting other toys with wheels on the tray to keep them from rolling off the table as well. And the tray is quite large -- as big as my granddaughter's arm span. You'll get good value with the paper, but the tray's what made me fall in love with this item!

This tray is a great idea for preventing the usual mess with water coloring and finger painting. I bought the tray for my granddaughter who is 4 and a budding artist. We bought this for our 4 yr old daughter to finger paint in and love it. We actually paint and do other projects in it as well. It does it's job and contains the mess inside with easy clean-up for us.

I purchased this for my daughter who is 2 1/2. She loves to paint at school but we just don't have the room for an easel at this point. This was the perfect solution! She can sit at the table with her paint brushes and paint. I haven't had her do finger painting yet but I'm sure we'll get some finger paints at some point soon- maybe when the weather is warmer and she can do it outside at her picnic table. I really like that it holds the paper steady for her- the tray did not move at all while she was painting. As the other reviewer said- also great idea for coloring so crayons or markers don't roll away- I hadn't thought of that but great idea!
Definitely recommend this product if you are holding off on an easel purchase!

Totally my fault for not reading the description well enough, but this is just paper and a plastic tray. For some reason I thought there was paint included too. Well the reason is the price! Although the price on this specific item is the same as specialty toy stores (local I found it for $15 plus tax), this is just an awful value. It's just paper and a plastic tray!
