Diameter too small to be usefulJun 30, 2011
By R. Halloran I purchased this slinky for my grandaughter, hoping it would be a close replica of the slinkies that I experienced in the 1960's. Those slinkies were about 5 inches in diameter which gave them the capability to "walk" down stairs and other larger objects. This slinky has a much smaller diameter which limits how much that can be done with it. Advertising it as the "original" slinky is misleading in my opinion.

If we had only known ahead of time this was going to be the main hit for Christmas we wouldn't have had Santa bring us all the other items!!! Our daughter has played and played with this.
Great Item!!! Great stocking stuffer!!!

Slinky...don't go through the holidays without one!Dec 12, 1999
We have had at least one slinky at every holiday gathering since I can remember...and that was about an hour and a half before dirt was invented! Just when I think we have collectively outgrown our obsession with the slinky, the current model gets opened and passed around and the stories of who got last year's edition and what became of it lead to memories of the year before and the one before that, until we are again tied together, reminiscing over the simple yet mesmerizing antics of this galloping winding marvel as it meanders down the stairs and into our hearts. You can't outgrow a slinky!

By Joyce A. Fencil When I think of an original slinky, I think of the one that was not the small one. This was so small that my grandchildren would never be able to use it. Plus, it would not go down the stairs as the "original" one did. I did not send it back because it would have cost more in return postage than the slinky cost. Make sure if you want the original one, you do not get the Jr. one as it is useless. It is going to be used as a white elephant gift at our annual family Christmas gathering.
