My son loves tangrams and things like that, so this is a next step in more detailed play. But the item arrived in a clear plastic bag, no box, no directions, nothing. I was really disappointed that I paid $20 for something cheaply packaged. I would never be able to give this as a gift, because it's packaged like something from a garage sale. Just be aware of what you're getting for your hard earned cash. It's some pegs, a plastic base with holes, and some cardstock.
