2Nice Toy - Annoying ToneDec 29, 2009
By D. Denny
I purchased this item for a six year-old who has everything but her own bedroom doorbell. We all loved this item until we put the batteries in and rung the bell. The sound is an annoying electronic sound that just doesn't cut it in such a toy. A little store in my neighborhood has a similar chime that sounds when you enter the store. It's good for a store, not so good for a child's bedroom. There is no volume control either. I cannot recommend this item unless the manufacturer decides to change the tone to one that is more pleasing to the ear.

1Cheap, poorly designed, piece of junk...Dec 26, 2010
By Gordon Gekko "HDTheaterMan"
I had high hopes for this one. How could you go wrong with a bedroom doorbell for a girls room? Fairly wrong apparently.

Right out of the package, I had an idea we made the wrong decision in getting this as a Christmas gift for our five-year-old daughter. There were no instructions or warranty/company info included. They must have thought the item was self-explainatory. Maybe so. The other review on here is correct, once I installed batteries, this thing made the most annoying electronic bell sound when the button is pressed. Yes, it sounds like a small business notification bell when a customer enters the front door of the business. Not only that, but the product was also defective. The bell would ring when no one would press it. I could either blame this on sensitive wiring or just poor design. Other poor designs of note:

-No On/Off switch/button
-No included mounting hardware (all I want is a screw and drywall anchor)
-Alternate ringing tones
-For the puny noise this thing puts out, it should only have to use three watch batteries. Definately not two AA batteries.

All around, this product was terrible. I would expect to find this thing in a shady flea market in some third world country. Once you get your hands on it, you will see what I mean. Hopefully you won't and you can find a better bedroom doorbell out there for your daugther/grand-daughter/niece. This one is going straight back to the seller. Save your time/money.

I bought this for my daughter's birthday and it didn't work. Sent it back and got another. It didn't work either. I should have paid closer attention to the reviews. Now I'm out shipping x2 and still nothing in my hands. Oh, and daughter's birthday has come and gone long ago. What a schmuck I am for buying this P.O.C.

5Ring my bellFeb 05, 2011

I purchased this for my 10 year old daughters bedroom door. She was constantly asking us to knock before coming into her room especially after showering or changing clothes. This mainly applied to her dad. This is great and the chime is loud enough that she hears it even if she has her TV up loud. Great little gift for any little girl requesting a little privacy..
