4Pretty coolJul 14, 2011

I like that this chalk is in holders, because it's less messy when my son draws with it. Not as big a fan of the 2 colors in each holder though... it's half and half, and easily splits down the center when handled by a toddler who hasn't quite gotten the concept yet of GENTLY making lines with the chalk!!!

What I love about this chalk is that it's great for both the sidewalk and the chalkboard... some "sidewalk chalks" are too rough on chalkboards, but this is more like regular chalk that's just thicker. Overall good stuff.

4Good for toddlersJun 15, 2011

Love these they are east for my toddler to use and she loves to color on her chalk board with these. However she did figure out pretty quickly how to take the chalk out of the holder.

5Great fixJun 07, 2013

Sidewalk chalk is a real mess. Gets all over kids hands... then clothes. These holders solve the problem (for the most part. My 2-y/o still manages to get messy). Would have liked the chalk to be brighter colors - like the holders. I found bright-colored Crayola sidewalk chalk at local store though. We are all happy.

2Easily brokeJan 20, 2013

I took issue with the handle container; the chalk falls out of it very easily. Putting it back in does not solve the problem but actually aggravates it because it shaves off even more chalk which reduces the circumference of the chalk and the handles ability to grip the base.

1Very Cheaply MadeJul 23, 2012

While this item is a fair price, the holders are extremely cheaply made. They don't even hold the chalk in the holder. Should a toddler, my granddaughter, not hold them perpendicular to the ground with chalk facing up, they fall out immediately. Difficult for a 2 1/2 year old to put back in with her 2 year old finger dexterity. I had to wrap a rubber band around the top of the holder so the chalk would not fall out. I bought a set of 9 from BJ's Wholesale Club for about $3 more and they are wonderful. Sadly they didn't have another set for Gramma to buy for her house. I would definitely not recommend this item. Spend your dollars wisely. Look around for a better made product.
