The Bugs are pretty realistic and keep my toddlers (2 and 3) busy for quite awhile. Or they are hiding them and shocking me with them!

I bought this toy for a four-year old who loved the toob, the globe that turned on the top, and the insects inside. He took them all out and named each of them (two of each) and just loved moving them around. A success. This toy was was a great price including s/h with this vendor compared with a toy store nearby, but the shipping packaging of a manila envelope was shoddy. I thought the toob would've been damaged without wrap; by sheer luck it wasn't.

Normally, Safari toys are great. And these insect figurines look really good. But, these insects have a very strong chemical odor. My wife and I tried to wash them, but the smell will not come off. I am guessing that the smell comes from adhesives used to attach the wings on the winged insects. Something that smells this bad (it actually made me and my wife dizzy/nauseated) can't be good for young children.

Bought these to decorate a cake. ALL of the kids LOVED these toys and fought over who would get to keep/play with them. They are fun and well detailed.
