We purchased the Melissa & Doug croquet set for our daughter in time for her 4th birthday party. The set comes in a handy bag which makes it very portable. We loved the faces and bright colors on the wickets and balls. It's great that there are four mallets instead of just two. The kids enjoyed trying out the game, and I think that they will grow into it more as they get older. The only thing that I'd suggest is perhaps instructions for parents like us who have never played croquet! In summary, this is another great product from Melissa & Doug.

I bought this for my nephews who are under five, after a family picnic where we all played with a traditional adult croquet set. They had fun that day, but of course, they were a bit small for the set we used. This is a perfect 'starter' croquet set. My nephews used it over the summer, and I am sure it will be used for years to come (until they are old enough to join the adults). Durable and arrived promptly.

We've gotten several other "Melissa & Doug" wooden toys for our daughter, so I thought this set would have a similar wood construction and high quality. Unfortunately, the plastic balls are so light they don't roll straight on the grass because they are too light and the overall quality is not what I was hoping for. Unfortunately for me I bought two sets so we could play croquet with a large group and then I waited too long to give them a try so now it's too late to return them.

We purchased this set for our almost 4 grand daughter. The quality is sturdy, but light. The mallets and balls are a reasonable weight for her age. And the added bonus, they are colorful, whimsical, with funny bug faces incorporated in the wickets and balls. It comes in a plastic carry case, so we can easily take it to the park. Extremely easy to put up and take down. A great product for the summertime!
