They do not appear to be able to crack or easily become damaged like some out there on the market. Adorable and fun for little girls to learn how to jump rope. Grandkids5Oct 30, 2011 By D. Brunetti "doodlebug" The jump rope is certainly cute. It is difficult for a 4 yr old to use since the rope portion is too long, too light and not adjustable. I even tried to knot the rope at the halfway point to both shorten it and give it some weight; still no go. Would not recommend although plastic handles are very cute.
