Not worth the botherJun 23, 2010 We play the full sequence game and really enjoy it. This game basically has one location for each card and one deck of cards. There is little to think about and it's really not fun in anyway. The small pieces only make it more annoying. I would not suggest it to anyone for any purpose.
Our favorite gameJun 03, 2010 This is one of our most favorite games when playing the kids sequence with the animals or the regular one with adults it is fun! It is hard to play with a toddler but they like to flip the cards and put the markers anywhere. A little bigger playing board may be nice but other than that it is a great toy to take with you. Not for in the car though. too many small pieces.

So much funAug 12, 2009 We really enjoy playing this game. It's so easy to teach the younger children to play.

Easy game all in one place.Sep 03, 2008 This is a fun game that could easily be used to help improve math and logic skills although there is also a fair amount of chance invovled. The board seems a little flimsy and I'd be worried about traveling with it too much. I just use it in my home and it's fine. I wouldn't pay full price for it though.

Not quite the full-size, but good.Nov 02, 2005 Players- 2 (and only 2)
Age range I'd reccomend: 8+ (small parts)
The travel-size Sequence box is a bit limited- it has one deck to play instead of two. But what it might lack in that respect might be made up for in its compact form, depending on what you're looking for. It is worth noting that the box includes small plastic pieces for markers that could be dangerous to small children. The pieces seem to be a very manageable size for the rest of us- and this is coming from a 6'2" guy with stubby fingers.
I bought this game with my girlfriend during a brief power outage, and it it was a fantastic way to spend the time. The compact size is perfect when you don't want to limit yourself to a full table, and it is great for travel. All of the components easily fit into one plastic box that snaps together with two tabs, instantly and securely locking everything together.
The game itself takes only moments to learn- deal 7 cards to each player, and take turns discarding cards (and placing a marker on the appropriate spot on the board) to work toward sequences- composed of 4 markers in a row. To mix it up, the Jacks are "wild" in the game. Two-eyed Jacks allow you to place your marker anywhere. One-eyed Jacks allow you to remove one of your opponent's pegs from the game. Even if you get tired of Sequence, the deck of cards included is full (including Jokers) so you can play whatever card games you might feel like enjoying.
Some luck is involved in the game- probably more than you'd want to have involved in a single play. In the travel version, players can only really interfere with each other by drawing a card the other side was hoping for or by drawing the Jacks (something the original minimized by having two decks). It can sometimes tilt one game toward one side, but playing a few games generally lets everyone have a chance to get the upper hand.
If you're looking for a game more appropriate for children, the same company that makes Sequence also made Jumbo and Children's versions of the game.
