Description:

Children with regulation disorders of sensory processing struggle to regulate their emotions and behaviors in response to sensory stimulation. This book explains how to recognize these disorders, which are often misdiagnosed, and offers practical ways of helping children with regulation disorders.
The authors describe the everyday experiences of those who interact with infants and children with regulation disorders of sensory processing. They explain the distinguishing characteristics, symptoms, diagnosis, assessment and treatment approaches for the disorder.
Focusing on early intervention, they present a range of management strategies for sensory sensitivities, motor problems, over- or under-reaction and extremes of behavior. These practical strategies for parents and professionals will help children with regulation disorders integrate and succeed in the family, at school and in the community.
This concise book will be of interest to those who assess, educate and parent children with regulation disorders.

5Understanding Regulation Disorders of Sensory Processing in ChildrenJan 25, 2011
By Mom2one
I have not read through the whole book yet but it is good so far. I am glad that someone wrote a book on this disorder. This is th only book I have found that covers just Regulation Disorders of Sensory Processing. Thank you for getting this information out there. So many people including Drs. really don't seem to know about this disorder and therefore give out these diagnosis' that never quite fit. Thanks again.

3Too clinical for the average readerJan 07, 2010
By M. Zonca "rainytuesday1"
I think the book has a lot of good information, but the text is written in a clinical language, which makes it hard to understand. I have read other books on the topic that were an easier read. I give it 3 stars, because it still contains helpful info., but it's not something I could sit and read with any other distractions in the room.
